Tickets for Party In The Park are on sale via snakeinthe grass.co.uk and at the town’s Visitors Information Centre, Colchester Arts Centre and Charter Hall at Leisure World.

Party InThe Park!

Bigger and better than ever - that’s the promise from organisers of Colchester’s Party in the Park, which runs from July 25 to 27.

This year there’s a change to the programme, with the Tribute to the Giants night moved to the Saturday, and the Last Night of the Proms being replaced with a Sunday afternoon of magic musical tunes.

On the Friday it’s local bands showing the way, with some of the rock stars of the future showing why we have one of the most exciting music scenes in the country.

They include local chart topping heroes, Koopa, Colchester ska collective New Town Kings and popular folk rockers Saltdog, as well as the Gazette's Rock the Park winners Cav OK and It's A Trap.

The following night’s entertainment will be hosted by Colchester magician Michael J Fitch. Colchester’s One and Only Sarah Louise, fresh from appearing as Madonna on the hit show, will begin musical proceedings, followed by the Spicey Girls.

Then it’s a hip-thrusting tribute to Tom Jones, Take That 2 and the grand finale, with Queen tribute the Kings of Queen rocking the park to a huge firework finale.

Last but by no means least, on Sunday from 4.30pm it’s The Magic of the Musical, with principal singers from West End musicals performing favourites from such shows as Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and Chicago.
